Scandalous Love

"Aki niko na Jameson's hata sija fungua bado. Sijui nikunyue yote ama nisi ikunyue." The words that birthed a friendship. Jameson's.

Six years later I have great respect for that particular bottle of Jameson.

God works in very mysterious ways. He has a sense of humor too. Did you know God laughs? He will place people strategically because He is omniscient and omnipotent. He knows what we don't know and see's what we can't see.

At times I imagine of how God works behind the scenes on our behalf. Fighting battles that we have no idea about. Creating divine connections. Placing us in strategic positions.

The day she gave her life to Christ. A few days after the Jameson's incident. Never had I encountered a more determined person. She meant it. Life had given her a few blows. She had done all that there was to be done. But still, nothing worked. The only thing she hadn't tried was God.

She had approached me for advice. I offered her God instead. In full knowledge that only Him had all her life answers. After all i am a work in progress as well.

Why not? After all what was there to lose?

The beautiful thing is that God is always in the business of not only LOVING broken people, but also sweeping up all the broken pieces and gluing them back together for His purpose.

That scandalous love!

There is always something amazing when messed up people give their lives to Christ. I know this for a fact because just as Paul I too was a chief of sinners. [1 Tim 1:15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.]

Hee... kule God amenitoa ndio far.

When you are tempted to ask “Lord, am I broken, am I flawed too much for you?” just remember, He chose a brash, big-mouthed fisherman, He chose a king who committed adultery with Bathsheba and then had her husband killed to cover up his sin, He chose a Hebrew with a supposed speech impediment, He chose a prostitute, He chose a persecutor of Christians, He chose a tax collector…and on and on.

That scandalous love!

Why? You might ask. Because those are the people we can mostly identify with.

I'm sure you can't identify with the righteous and holy Pharisees but you sure can identify with Peter though. Our flows make us see the need for a savior. Making us have no cause to boast because we rely on that scandalous grace. Leaving no question that it was God who did the work through us and not us on our own.

Fast forward It still amazes me to see how God has worked and is still working in you each day. You have become such an amazing young lady and I am so honored I get to see you grow every day. Your strength is that of 1,000 lions. I don't think I have met someone stronger.

Whenever the weight of the world is pressing against my faith in God, I just think of you and how He has worked in your heart. You are a living proof of Gods work and I am honored to call you my bestie'.

Make Room: God Desires Your Undivided Attention

Last Sunday, the Lord woke me up at 4am. After spending some quiet time with Him, I stepped out of bed at exactly 5:30 am. Being a Sunday, there’s usually a lot on my plate. Then suddenly, I remembered that there was supposed to be a video shoot in my house that day—something that had completely slipped my mind. As I prepared my cup of coffee, the Holy Spirit nudged me to pick up my Bible and spend more time with Him. I could sense the Lord was longing for my undivided attention. So, I opened my Bible and asked the Holy Spirit what He desired to teach me. He led me to Joshua 5. I began reading quietly, but soon felt prompted to read aloud. This chapter speaks of Joshua circumcising an entire new generation of Israel with flint knives. I paused and asked, “Lord, weren’t the male children supposed to be circumcised on the eighth day?” The Holy Spirit delights when we ask Him questions. It became a moment of fellowship between us. He then led me to Numbers 9, particularly verses 15–23, an...

The Struggle of Separation

When God begins to separate us, it rarely feels easy. In fact, the first stages of isolation often feel confusing, lonely, and even painful. I remember when I first stepped out of the familiar into the unfamiliar, I couldn’t fully understand what God was doing. For years, I struggled to settle. Life felt as though it had slowed to a crawl. Many times, I prayed: “Lord, is this really Your will? Or did I move by my own doing? If I am outside Your will, forgive me and realign me with Your purpose.” That prayer became the cry of my heart in the wilderness season. The Silence of God One of the hardest struggles in separation is that God sometimes seems silent. We pray and wonder if He hears us. We search for direction but don’t receive immediate answers. It feels like being hidden, unseen, and even forgotten. But silence doesn’t mean absence. In reality, God is working beneath the surface, reshaping our desires, humbling our hearts, and preparing us for what lies ahead. The Loneliness of Is...

An open letter to my " Family & Friends"

Dear family and friends, With over 500 contacts and double that on my phone book I woke up to an experiment wanting to see how many of my so called “close friends, allies, and close family members” would reach out and probably save me from the self-destruction path I had intentionally taken upon myself. I posted depressing status as a way of crying out for help and seeking attention. But unfortunately, none of those that I had anticipated would be the first to reach out did. Not a word until this very moment. Not to say that they did not see my depressing status but some actually downloaded the same status and posted as their own status posts. You see many are the times that I have scrolled through my phone wondering whom to chat up with or talk to because I feel so lonely or because I need someone I can trust to just listen or because at times I am just in need of some sought of reassurance and found none. This is to say that if I was on a path of self-destruction...
